The Marines’ Hymn
From the Halls of Montezuma
To the Shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country’s battles
In the air, on land, and sea;
First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title
Of United States Marine.
Our flag’s unfurled to every breeze
From dawn to setting sun;
We have fought in every clime and place
Where we could take a gun;
In the snow of far-off Northern lands
And in sunny tropic scenes;
You will find us always on the job
The United States Marines.
Here’s health to you and to our Corps
Which we are proud to serve
In many a strife we’ve fought for life
And never lost our nerve;
If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven’s scenes;
They will find the streets are guarded
By United States Marines"

We are the members of the Dan Daly Detachment, located in Hernando Beach, Florida. We welcome you to look through our web site and see who we are and what we do, with a mind towards working with us in the future. Our Detachment is also seeking Marines, FMF Corpsmen and others who support the Corps to share in the camaraderie with their own. We have all shared our hardships and Esprit of the Marine Corps in the defending our our way of life in the past and want to continue sharing that feeling of brotherhood in the future.

Our membership consists of Marines, FMF Corpsmen and others who strongly support our Corps and our Detachment of Marines. These include veterans of World War II, Korea, VietNam, Desert Strom, Iraq, the Cold War, Operation Enduring Freedom and other Marines currently on active duty around the world. Our members are also members of other veterans associations such as the American Legion, VFW and DAV as well as many others.

We carry no rank or grade on our sleeves but only use the title MARINES. We do have members who have been elected and are appointed to carry out the administrative requirements of the Detachment as we move through each year in both our social and community activities. If you look around our web site, you will see the history behind the Marine we've named our Detachment after as well as some of the traditions of the Corps We encourage you to join us and participate in our activities, serve on our committees and help serve in the community.

We understand that while you join with us and our family of Marines, you also have another life to which you are committed, such as your family, your employers and other friends in the community. We also understand that your participation with us may be limited by those commitments, but that you will try to contribute as much to our success as you can. We only ask that you participate as best you can with us, and that starts with coming to our business meetings once a month at 7 PM on the first Monday of each month at the Detachment home, which is addressed in another location on this web site.

We are a family, first and foremost that does not include just our members but our members families as well. We pride ourselves in taking care of ourselves and our families first. None of the activities we participate in have no meaning without taking care of ourselves first, and without our families we would be hard pressed to serve our community as we did our nation.

Please come and join our brotherhood and again feel what it's like to have the friendship of those you trust around you.
